[attr="class","main1"]"We over-ordered Malibu and Kraken so I've thrown them in the back of storage for now but try and upsell your... Dark and Stormies and Piña coladas, yeah? Maybe Rum Punch too- if ya can." Her voice elevated the air despite taking heavy paces backward away from the bar - notepad nestled against her breast as she did so. "What's up, Pumpkin? You look like you've seen a ghost." She remarked with a wide, playful grin. The victim to her latest show-stopper get up with sparkled onyx that hung to her hips in the form of a tightly-fitted shirt and torn jeans, and a belt loving stolen from her Dad before she left Wiltshire to avoid Mama. She brushed her thumb against Meredith's cheek with focus, removing any remaining sugar crystals from parted lips. "Oh and Blue Hawaiis!" She called back to the remaining staff, her voice lowering slightly in response to a wide-eyed and somewhat bewildered Meredith. "How you feelin'?" She softened, ignoring any sort of professional prowess she may have kept for her colleagues. "Don't worry, no one's died or blown up since you've been gone. Well, Jack dropped a bottle of... Jack." She rose a hand to highlight the irony of it. "You sure you're alright, sugar? You're lookin' a little red." She remarked with a slight grin, raising the back of her palm to her employer's forehead in search of fever. "Don't start fallin' for me now."

[attr="class","main"]”We did or you did?” Chestnut curls prevented her from seeing Aislinn’s reaction to her tease as she glanced slightly over her shoulder. Event day meant all hands on deck, including her own, as they all scrambled to place decorations and check the necessary stores ahead of the hour. ”Iris should be back in a few days from leave anyway. Girl could sell sawdust to a lumber mill.” She missed having Iris around for a laundry list of reasons but none more than the endless laughter and contagious smile. She had an eye for events that Meredith lacked and no doubt she’d see photos of tonight online later and message her a thousand things she could have done differently. ”But we’re not-” A slow chill crept over her midsection and, if she hadn’t known better, she would have mistaken the sensation as morning sickness to start. Hazel eyes fixed across a shimmering waterfall of onyx fabric. The occasional rushed movement from Aislinn exposing precious caramel skin to the house lights. ”What? No- I just.. I think..” Suppose she understood where most associated Aislinn with her mother but her Aunt Briana had always lacked a certain .. beauty? Was that mean of her? Probably. Fuck. She froze for a moment as warm fingertips made contact with her cheek. ”I think my morning sickness is getting the better of me.” She dismissed quickly, closing her eyes slightly as Aislinn issued another command to the staff in the back.
As if she’d noticed, Aislinn abandoned her HBIC voice in favor of something softer. ”Like I have the Rona.” A light jest at the current state of the world as she took a seat on the chair across the counter from her company. She wasn’t even supposed to be lifting anything to say nothing about stressing over these events while Iris was gone. Yet, she wasn’t easily deterred and she did have Aislinn to do all the yelling which was nice. Considering the last time she had to fire someone she’d broken down into tears afterward. ”Wait. . Our Jack?” Her curiosity piqued as she glanced toward the back of the house. ”That motherfucker promised me a show if I could get Jas to agree but then..I..Kinda- .. Actually, nevermind.” Meredith groaned, allowing her head to rest against the bar in slight defeat. Things were just going from bad to worse and now Jas had locked himself away on an island. Quite literally.”Ugh is that whole .. one glass of wine a day is safe during pregnancy thing still a .. thing? I need a drink.” She couldn’t have one, of course she knew that, but sometimes being sober just didn’t live up to the hype.
How embarrassing it was to have to sit down with Jasper and let him know the ins and outs of her life over the last few months he’d been gone. Necessary and of course the conversation was next level in terms of maturity but she couldn’t help but feel awful about the timing. He was one of her best friends despite their past and he’d just made it out of a home for the love of god. She couldn’t help but feel maybe her visiting had given him the wrong impression. She already felt bad enough for what happened after their trip back in time. Her attention shifted to mauve tinted lips and the ever present hint of a smirk as that subtle chill slowly began to tumble down into a strange warmth. Stop it. This was Jasper’s sister of all fucking people. She didn’t want to imagine the look on his face if she were to yoink his sister into the cooler. ”I’m not!” She protested, a little too quickly, reaching up to pull Aislinn’s hand from her temple to prevent any more color rising to her cheeks. ”I mean-... Has Iris talked to you about us relocating yet? My dad wants me back in Iceland with everything going on .. future wise and I- just..” A wave of the hand suggested she’d already lost her thoughts as she tapped her nails nervously on the bar top. ”Weather is better here.”
